Six female voices from Ensemble vocal Sequenza 9.3 perform women's songs collected in Seine-Saint-Denis, a rich heritage handed down through generations. They are interwoven with improvisations on the santûr, a traditional Middle Eastern zither played by Iranian composer Farnaz Modarresifar.

A musical encounter of finesse, where the ancient mingles with the contemporary: Lucile Boulanger's viola da gamba dialogues with the Sequenza 9.3 vocal ensemble, deploying her virtuoso solo playing or giving way to 12 a cappella voices.

Three colors of a day, through the organic, almost imperceptible changes of the repetitive music, invites the eye and ear to follow the diffraction of light as it is offered to us at different times of the day, from dawn to dusk.

The gentle litany of an Andalusian lullaby, the amorous spirit of an Egyptian song or the modal flavor of a Greek chant... A musical journey around the Mediterranean, carried by 6 female voices.

At the heart of this program are “Nanni” (lullabies), secular monodies evoking the unconditional love of a mother to her child. In counterpoint, “voceri” - funeral songs of vengeance - or sacred songs invite us to meditate.
